Let’s just say our “little” Kids Fish Fest has grown substantially and . The official counts as of Tuesday morning are 46 families attending with 280 more interested. The event has reached 17,000 people with 1,100 who have opened and reviewed the event page. We have several sponsors including World Fishing Day, Walden Marina, April Sound Bait & Tackle, Academy, Walmart, Code Blue Fishing, Fish on Texas, Cen-Tex Hunting and Fishing, and of course our organizations; Catfish Bubblegum, Bradley’s Bite Enhancer, Bradley’s Guide Service, and Texas Trophy Catfish Association.
The itinerary has changed a little bit to include more activities for the children.
10:00am – Free donuts will be served!
10:15am – Bradley’s Bite Enhancer will be teaching angler safety and etiquette.
10:30am – Catfish Bubblegum will be providing bait and beginners fishing lessons.
11:30am – LUNCH!
12:00pm – Casting Contest with 4 different age groups and prizes for the top 3 in each age group.
12:30pm – Brad Doyle of Bradley’s Guide Service will be demonstrating fish cleaning techniques.
1:00pm – Texas Trophy Catfish Association will speak about Catfish conservation.
1:30pm – Code Blue Fishing will provide large fish to teach how to weigh, measure, tag, and release trophy Catfish
Kids Fish Fest is being held on honor of World Fishing Day this Saturday, June 23rd, at Walden Marina from 10am-2pm. Everything is free except for lunch, which will be available for purchase at no obligation. Cajun Comfort Crawfish & Seafood Company will be cooking crawfish and shrimp, while hot dogs and nachos will be provided by Phatt Dogs.
